"...I can't imagine sticking my kid in a
daycare. You never know what kind of people are going to work there.
And they are, of course, germ farms."

"I just wanted to let you know that I
love your website! I am a stay-at-home mother of three (1,3,5). I KNOW I am
doing the right thing for my children and can't imagine trusting anyone else
(day care) to raise them. Keep up the good work!"

"My name is Don. My wife Norma and I
decided to buy a small house (less than 720 sq ft) and drive older cars (two
1994 and a 1998) in order to make sure our little one stays home with
his mommy (instead of daycare) . Do we sacrifice? Yes, we do. I typically work 50-60 hr. per week.
We don't go out to fancy restaurants on "dates," but go to the family style
restaurants. Money can be scarce at times but our love and faith is not. Our
little one is getting the very best care on the planet, his loving Mommy. I
speak to other men whose families have made the same choice and there seems
to be a bit of pride in all this. This pride stems from a sense of duty and
commitment that we are insuring the best for our children."

Thank
you, thank you, thank you for a great site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I had found it earlier... We have 2 sons, and with the first one we
were really lucky to take care of him for the first 2 years before we HAD to
send him to the one of the best and most expensive daycares available...but
my son was clinging to my leg every single day for several months, crying
and weeping and tearing my heart out of my chest alive... I was crying in
the car while driving to a miserable and disgusting job of mine... Then
things got better, little by little. He got used to it. I still wonder how
much it scarred him, though. He used to be such an easy smiler, and now he
forces his smiles for the pictures exactly the way I did when I was a
daycare child. He's almost 4 now, rather reserved and shy and not very
willingly sociable - prefers to play on his own at the playgrounds and
YMCA, even when there are kids around... Our second son - we kept him at
home with the best Grandmothers in the world for his first year - I still
feel no less guilty, as kids need Moms, no matter how great Granny is. It's
still the better option than a daycare, though (or is this just my guilt
speaking?). But in December we finally decided I should quit working and
keep both kids at home. They are doing so much better!!! The youngest
one started sleeping in the afternoons (used to cat nap 2 times x 30
minutes or so) He is still up 2 times at night (but instead of 4-5 times
earlier)... I think it's so much more important both for parents and kids
when one of the parents stays at home.
Best luck with your site and I hope you will make a difference and create
better lives for some kids when their parents will decide to stay at
home!!!
