...my husband...quit
his job and is a stay-at-home Dad/student.
We caved in to the pressure to "socialize" her by putting her in daycare 2
mornings a week. Our friends told us that she would be "behind" the other
kids if she didn't go to daycare. Daycare lasted 3 terrible months...it was
so awful I can't even put it into words. She got diaper rash, a series of
colds which led to a serious ear infection and then the final straw was when
she got RSV...
the daycare was bad for her health, her development, and for us. She was
sick and unhappy which made us unhappy.
Now, home with Dad, she is strong and beautifully healthy. At her last
well-baby visit, the pediatrician made the following comments: "Maddy is
really healthy. She isn't a at daycare, is she?" 'nuff said there! "Maddy
seems advanced for her age..."
...What made me want to cry was when the pediatrician said she could tell
which kids went to daycare without even asking.

"Thank You", 30-Sep-05 |
I wanted to thank you for your wonderful
website. If only I had found it earlier---I recently pulled my 2 1/2 year
old son out of a day car (learning) center. It's a reputable expensive
one---who knew thy really are all alike. During Christmas week he ended up
in the hospital with RSV...
(after removing him from daycare) what a difference we have seen in him...He
is eating better, sleeping better, and just seems more relaxed. There are
also fewer tantrums and his communication skills are increasing.
I just wanted to commend you on a job well done. I will share your site with
as many people as I can.

Some Thoughts on Early Learning and on
the numbers excuse for setting up universal daycare, Blog, Street Advisor
Incorporated, 29-Oct-05 |
I worked hard to get my education and
professional teaching qualifications. A university degree is minimal
and nowadays a masters in teaching is required -- at least 5 years of
university.
A daycare worker does not have that. They are not 'teachers'.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WEBSITE!
How it's better for (children) to
be raised by strangers who don't care like a parent should, I'll never know. |
