This is in response to a post about
"Signs of a good daycare center":
Far better than touring a bunch of
facilities and keeping a list of things to look for in mind, if you're
married just stay home with your child instead. Children are better
off at home with a parent and all good studies say so. Not
affording it is no excuse. If you're
willing to look thorough a bunch of daycares to find the best for your
child, then you can sit down and figure out what needs to be sacrificed so
one parent can stay home. There's ALWAYS a way.
If you're single and must work, then it's better to leave the child with a
family member or a good friend than to put them in a daycare.
Daycare should only be a last resort. Anything less is
selfishness.
Remember, you are a parent, and if you're married and aren't willing to stay
home and be your child's parent, which is what they really need, then you
don't deserve your children, or the title of parent.
Children deserve better than daycare.
I would die first before I placed my child in one!

What a great website!! I was (a working mom) for almost 5
yrs, but I've since seen the light and am now trying to spread the word that
leaving your kids at daycare is wrong, and if you believe you're okay, it's
a big lie!! Keep up your good works!! I'm keeping
this website to share with others.

...How many of us would choose to be
raised by a revolving set of caregivers in a crowded, chaotic environment?
...if more parents knew what their kids really go through during their day
in daycare I imagine they'd think twice before deciding to let someone else
(or a series of someone elses) raise their child.

If you think that daycare is better than
mother-care, then you probably believe that cafeteria food is better than
home cooking.

Thanks for this
website. I’m an attorney/stay-at-home mom and am trying to convince my
sister to do the same. Your website has helped me articulate my thoughts to
her.

Placing him in day care in
the first place is a KNOWING and WILLING act to put that child in the hands
of people who do not have the VESTED INTEREST in the child's safety, growth
and health.
